High-performance transparent nylon 12

Bjørn Thorsen A/S is now the exclusive distributor of Xianglong product range of high-performance transparent nylon 12, commercialized under the brand Chanlon™, in Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Iceland, Estonia, Letonia, Lithuania, United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, France, and the French portions of Belgium and Switzerland.

By adding a range of high-performance transparent nylon 12, Bjorn Thorsen aims to close a gap in the current market, offering customers price competitive materials, technical guidance, and supply certainty, with standard grades stored at Bjørn Thorsen European warehouses.

High-performance specialty polyamides – Transparent nylon 12
The Chanlon™ product families of high-performance specialty polyamides from Xianglong includes transparent nylon (incl. a high temperature grade), barrier nylon, and long chain PA (PA1010, PA1012). Some of the characteristics of these nylon 12 materials are:

• Permanent transparency and high light transmission
• High dimensional stability and easy processing
• Excellent abrasion and scratch resistance
• Bio-based content of up to 45% (for the G4001 grade)
• Superior impact resistance to high/low temperature
• Good chemical and solvent resistance
• High level of UV resistance and weathering stability
• High stress crack resistance
• High flexural fatigue strength and high memorability
• Low density and light quality
• Easily colorable and food contact approval
